Nature, Nurture and Nourishment for the Soul

a different 3 day New Year celebration

Come to the Beacon Centre for an alternative New Year! We will ready ourselves for the transition into the New Year through the practice of Anusara-Inspired yoga, which works with the attitude, alignment and action of body, heart and mind. Morning tantric meditations will help reveal your highest intentions for 2010 and evening activities will stimulate your creativity and expand your senses. On New Year's eve there will be music and dancing in the run-up to midnight. Join new friends (or bring old ones with you!) and celebrate the new year in a different way in the Devon countryside.

Kate Hewett has an intuitive, informed and inspiring style of teaching, grounded in a decade of yoga and meditation practice and training within several traditions in the UK, US and India. She started teaching in 2001 and in 2005 dedicated herself to the Anusara yoga method. Kate aims to make the ancient teachings of yoga relevant to modern life, and in each class  you can expect to find a key philosophical teaching woven into a flowing practice with clear alignment instructions and playful challenges.

Wednesday 30th December (3pm start) through to Saturday 2nd January (2pm finish)

£265 discounted £235 if booked by October 31st for a shared twin room. Single room £50 extra.

The Beacon Centre is renowned for its delicious vegetarian food and good quality accommodation (shared twin rooms). Located just outside Exeter and surrounding by rolling hills it becomes a perfect place to enjoy this experience of practicing yoga. Cost is £525 and places are limited to 16 participants. Through significant periods of training with his teachers Hamish Hendry, Richard Freeman and Sarah Powers he has gained the Yoga Alliance 500 hour accreditation. He believes that yoga is accessible to all of us and through regular practice we can experience profound changes in our mind and body. His own experience has taught him that yoga is an enjoyable way to release and make available energetic potential to enhance our lives. Transition Exeter (inner transitions) Nonviolent Communication Practice Group is offering a day's introduction to nonviolent communication (NVC) . It is also sometimes called Compassionate Communication and is a practicable, learnable skill that you can start using immediately in every aspect of your life, especially  in relationships of all types - work, children, personal.

It will be held on Saturday 23 January from 9.30 am till 5.00 pm at the Beacon Centre.

The faciltators will be Steve Jupp and Penny Spawforth who have introduced NVC to the Transition Movement in West Wales. They have  both attended many trainings and have  a profound connection with and love of the work. We are delighted that this low budget  day of learning and  participation  will be available for  NVC enthusiasts in Exeter. Some places have already been taken but we still have six places left.

Please contact  Gail on su7027@eclipse .co.uk if you are interested in coming along or becoming involved in our monthly practice group.
