Opportunities to participate in the running of the Beacon Centre arise from time to time. We offer accommodation and meals in exchange for help in the kitchen, garden and general running of the venue. Participating in this way can be very fulfilling. Helping to support a cared for environment for workshops and being a part of the atmosphere on retreats carries an intrinsic reward that is rare to find.
We are passionate about providing as wholesome an experience as possible to those attending the Beacon Centre. As such the amount of work involved is substantial. We have projects on in the garden to produce fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs for the kitchen and there is always much to do to keep the grounds looking great. We are planting a few acres with ash and willow for fuel for the wood burners too.
The nature of working at a workshop venue is sporadic so there are often opportunities that arise for a weekend or so leaving time to unwind after the work is done. The option of working over a busy period to then take some well earned rest at the Centre is a wonderful way to make a personal retreat affordable. We have permanent lets at The Beacon Centre for those wanting to be involved in a longer term way.
